Summary of Film or Television Series premise

 

Cady is a 16 year old girl, previously home-schooled and entering public high school for the first time. She encounters the social politics of high school and is caught between maintaining the rules of the popular clique and being true to herself and her friends. The film is based on the book, Queen Bees and Wannabees (R. Wiseman, 2002) about relational aggression.

Teaching Activities

Observation and discussion: After a brief lecture on relational aggression and social development in early adolescence, students view the film with the aid of an observation guide. In class discussion focuses on points from the guide. A quiz to test student learning of content knowledge is available.
